Tom Vicente has joined the firm as a Senior Consulting Actuary in our Bolton Retirement division. Mr. Vicente has over 30 years of experience delivering comprehensive employee benefit plan and consulting, actuarial and plan administration services to a wide variety of plan sponsors, including governmental entities, not-for-profit organizations, church plans, higher education organizations, and privately held companies. He is an innovative consulting leader focused on providing new solutions leading to better outcomes for employers and plan participants.
Prior to joining Bolton, Tom was a Partner and Senior Vice President at Aon for 32 years in their suburban Philadelphia office. At Bolton, Tom will focus on consulting to public sector employers and will work in Bolton’s Baltimore headquarters.
Tom is collaborative problem solver who blends ideas drawn from his experience working with a wide variety of plan sponsors in disparate industries to craft solutions targeted at each client’s unique needs. He works with clients to produce measurable results and support the successful delivery of benefits to plan participants. An expert in identifying risk and underlying issues in pension and retiree benefit plans, Tom develops clear, understandable analysis and solutions to define actionable steps and promote sustainability. His expertise includes traditional pension plans, cash balance and other hybrid plan designs, defined contribution plans, retiree benefit plans, and gift annuities.
He has served in various management capacities throughout his career, including actuarial practice leadership and national advisory committees, as well as speaking at various professional meetings. Tom has also been involved extensively in discussions with credit rating agencies (Moody’s, S&P, Fitch) to understand the factors driving their evaluations, and translates this knowledge of credit rating metrics into actions designed to improve ratings and borrowing costs for his clients.
Mr. Vicente is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is a 1987 graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
